Rain had the final say in the under-13 40-over cricket match between Taranaki and Horowhenua-Kapiti in Whanganui on Sunday.
Horowhenua-Kapiti struggled against some tight bowling from Hanley Setu and Mitchell Proffit and were 8-2 after eight overs.
Proffit finished with 3-3 off six overs as Horowhenua- Kapiti were all out for 118.
Robson Chapman and Danyon Nicholas took two wickets. Chapman and Caleb Frewin opened for Taranaki and took the score through to 71-0 after seven overs before rain stopped play.
Chapman was on 40 and Frewin 19.
