Taranaki's Aaron Marr was in winning form at the club championships in Rotorua.
Contesting the Yamaha light and open classes for the championship titles at the weekend, Marr outclassed the opposition, comfortably winning all five of his races in each class.
Marr, 17, is a recipient of the Speedsport Racing scholarship.
He is competing in the 11-round New Zealand formula first championships, sitting fifth after two rounds.
Taranaki cadet driver Thomas Boniface finished the day second overall.
The class was won by North Island champion and Taranaki club member Callum Hedge.
The two were tied on points for the final clash, with Hedge winning narrowly.
Matthew Podjursky was the fastest around the 1.2km international standard circuit in both the formula junior and junior Yamaha classes.
Unfortunately, his high-powered formula junior machine suffered mechanical issues and he was forced to retire.
Podjursky drove an excellent series in the junior Yamaha heats and final to claim victory in the class.
