New Plymouth Girls' High School suffered a heavy loss in their first game at the national cricket finals in Palmerston North at the weekend.
After having their first game rained out on Friday, New Plymouth had a bye in the second round.
They then played St Kentigern College. Batting first, New Plymouth staggered through to 71-8 off their 20 overs, with Emily Cunningham top-scoring with 18.
St Kentigern had no problem chasing down the target, reaching 72-1 off 10 overs.
