The Taranaki under-19 cricket side had a win and a loss in limited overs matches on Sunday and Monday.

Against Hawke's Bay at Whanganui on Sunday, Taranaki restricted their opponents to 246-5, with John Dickson the best of the bowlers, taking 2-31.

Taranaki's run chase fell well short as they were dismissed for 138, with James McDougall scoring 45 and Ricky Riccitelli 39.

Against Whanganui at Pukekura Park on Monday, Taranaki dismissed the visitors for 212, with Ryan Watson taking 2-29, Shaun Sullivan 2-29 and Henry Boon 2-39.

Taranaki reached their target in the 43rd over for the loss of five wickets, with McDougall top-scoring with 62 not out.

Dickson made 49, Riccitelli 28 and Rupert Young 33.
