OPINION: Taranaki junior tennis is in good shape, according to Wes Elder who ran last week's age-group tournament at the Rotokare courts in New Plymouth.
"This year's Naki Racquets/Wilson junior tournament was the most successful yet, the talent pool is amazing," Elder said.
Amrit Rai won the elite boys' final from Jamie Simpson, while the elite girls' final was won by Sophie Robertson, who beat Mikaela Spurdle.
In the junior boys' and girls' grades, Tim Neild and Hikaru Han won the 14 years singles, while the 12 years winners were David Barnard and Kyra Allan.
Charlie Waite won the 10 years' boys and the girls' 10 years was won by Liana Smith.
The grasshoppers' event was won by seven-year-old Dylan Denton.
