An unbeaten century by Josh Borrell was the highlight of the Taranaki under-14 team's one-day match against Cornwall Hastings in Napier on Friday.
Borrell finished on 117 as Taranaki made 235-8 off 50 overs. He had good support from Brodie Lilley with 48.
Taranaki then dismissed their opposition for 147 with off-spinner Jarred Phillips taking 6-38.
Taranaki were unbeaten in their one-day matches. But things did not go to plan in their two Twenty20 matches on Saturday.
Against Taradale, Taranaki managed 111-7, with Josh Morris making 28. Taradale reached their target off the second-to-last ball with four wickets in hand.
Taranaki then lost by eight runs to a Hawke's Bay invitation side. Chasing 92, Taranaki were bowled out for 83. Lilley took 3-18, Phillips 2-17 and Kaylen Boshier 2-8.
The South Taranaki under- 12 cricket side finished the Wanganui invitation tournament with a win against a West Coast XI on Saturday.
West Coast batted first, making 114-9 off 30 overs as Lachlan Drummond took 3-9.
Drummond then scored 32 runs before being retired as South Taranaki reached their target in the 28th over. South Taranaki finished with three wins, four losses and a draw (rained-out match).
