Taranaki might only have one representative, Kurt Baker, in the New Zealand sevens side for this week's IRB tournament in Wellington but the Australian squad has a player with close ties to the province.
Australian prop Ben Adams' father, Michael, was born and raised in Opunake and played in the front row for several Taranaki age-group sides before moving across the Tasman.
Ben was born in Mackay, Australia.
The tournament will be his second for Australia.
