A total of 494 runners and walkers turned out for a Nexans Olex-sponsored fun run at Fitzroy's Peringa Park on Sunday.

The 10km field had international athletes taking part, with Dougan Butler, who recently represented New Zealand at the world mountain running champs, winning in 33min 20sec.

Triathlete Clark Ellice was second, with David Morton third. Paul Nicholson won the 5km event in 21min 20sec, followed by Steven Brace and Cameron Hucker.

The first three runners in the 2.8km run were Oliver Bestall, Mike Foster and Tyler Wadsworth.

In the walking section, Mike Morrisey was first home in the 5km and Peter Fox won the 10km race.
