The Stratford Scrappers have come away empty handed from the superstock teams championships in Palmerston North at the weekend.

After narrowly losing their first race to the Waikato Wanderers, the Stratford team lost their second race to the defending champions, Palmerston North Panthers, and failed to qualify for the top eight.

The Panthers won the event for the third year in a row, with the Manawatu Mustangs second ahead of the Nelson Tigers.

Taranaki fans did have something to cheer on the second night of the event when New Plymouth modified drivers John Jackson and Richard Pierce finished second and third respectively in the Manawatu modified championship.

New Zealand ranked No 1 driver Luke Keegan, from Christchurch, won the title.

Is Ma'a Nonu returning to the Hurricanes ...

A great move, he's still world class

Okay for one season, but no more

Depriving a more deserving player of a contract

Great for the All Blacks but of no use to Canes

Hmmm, I'll vote in 12 months' time
