Huatoki was in dominating form in Soffe Cup interclub tennis on Saturday, cruising to a 16-0 win over Okaiawa at the New Plymouth courts on Saturday.
The resounding win meant Huatoki moved to second on the competition leaderboard behind Pukekura with one further qualifying round to play before the playoffs.
Amrit Rai, playing at No 1, anchored the Huatoki men's line up with a 6-3 6-2 win over fellow Taranaki rep Andrew Powell.
No 2 Ajeet Rai found some early resistance from Okaiawa's Mark Laurence, but came through in the end winning 6-3 6-3, while Andrew Sangster at three ran Okaiawa's Vincent Bayliss into the ground 6-1 6-2.
Chris Popata at four made short work of Ryan Stockman 6-0 6-1.
In the women's matches, Alice Caskey survived a tight first set to dominate Okaiawa's No 1 Amelia Weir 7-5 6-3 and Sophie Robertson was all over her opponent in a 6-0 6-0 win over Jo Gyde.
Ellen O'Byrne and Lorraine Heerdegen had tighter wins over Jaime Baylis and Shannon O'Brien 7-5 6-4 and 6-2 7-5 respectively.
Competition frontrunners Pukekura were at home and expected to easily beat a depleted Manaia line-up And that's how it unfolded with the home team winning 12-4 with the only resistance from defending champions Manaia coming from their top players.
Manaia's No 1, Nicole Koch, was workman-like in her win over the talented Louise Waite 6-3 6-3, while big improver Trudy Vance gave it her best in her 4-6 3-6 loss against Pukekura No 2 Kirsten Adam.
Manaia's Soffe Cup debutantes Georgia Bartosh and Dayna Corbett playing at three and four, faced an uphill battle against Pukekura stalwarts Linda Reid and Donna Thorne, with the Pukekura pair dominant 6-4 6-1 and 6-0 6-0 winners respectively.
Manaia's No 1, Jordan Fleming, eased past Pukekura's Callum Old 6-1 6-4, while as anticipated Michael Gates went down 0-6 1-6 to Michael Fleming.
At No 3, Manaia's Beauden Fleming started strongly, taking the first set 7-6 off Chris Jury. However, Jury hit back to take the next two, 6-1 6-1.
Josh Murdoch at four was no match for Jamie Simpson, Simpson winning 6-0 6-0.
The doubles and combines were dominated by Pukekura.
Oakura booked a semifinal berth with a solid 12-4 win over Rotokare. It was closer than the score might suggest, with five of the seven tie break matches going Oakura's way.
No 1 Graeme Mitchell proved too good for Malcolm Elder in the men's No 1 match, 6-1 6-0. Len Adamson had to go three sets to tame Rotokare's Cole Hareb at No 2, winning 6-7 6-3 6-3.
Meanwhile, Cory Sutherland had an easy ride for his first Soffe cup win taking it 6-3 6-1 over veteran Laurie Jordan.
