There were a few spills at the KartSport Taranaki club championships at the Waitara track on Sunday.

Matthew Podjursky was taken to hospital after a roll-over in the junior 100cc Yamaha class but was later discharged.

He was leading before the incident. Amy Pearce and Aaron de Ridder suffered minor injuries after a tangle saw both karts hit the safety barrier.

Ryan Jury claimed the 100cc junior restricted class, and brother Brendan took out the junior 100cc Yamaha.

Brad Still won the Yamaha 100cc light, Rotax Max light and the Champion of Champions Trophy.

Ben Thom won the Sutton Speed Trophy for one flying lap to set the fastest lap time.
