An already daunting trip to Adelaide has just got even tougher for the Wellington Phoenix, with leading striker Jeremy Brockie ruled out of Sunday's A-League game at Hindmarsh Stadium with a hamstring injury.

Brockie tweaked his hamstring at training yesterday and failed to come to come through today's fitness test.

"Gym session done today!!,"  Brockie tweeted. "Gutted to be missing the game on Sunday but confident the boys will come back with 3 points! #hatemissinggames"

Brockie has scored seven goals in his last six games, and is second on the golden boot standings behind Central Coast's Daniel McBreen.

A Phoenix spokesman said the Phoenix would not replace Brockie on today's flight to Adelaide.

That leaves the sixth-placed Phoenix with a minimum 15-man squad.

Dani Sanchez, Louis Fenton, Tyler Boyd and Benjamin Totori are all options to replace Brockie in the starting XI against the league's second-placed side.
