Taranaki All Black Beauden Barrett will have x-rays on his ribs after injuring them during Sunday's game against Italy.
Barrett suffered the injury during the first half of the All Black's 42-10 win over Italy in Rome and was sidelined early in the second half.
Injury concerns also hang over Keven Mealamu (calf), Aaron Smith (knee) and Aaron Cruden (shoulder) but Barrett's rib injury is the most pressing and he will have x-rays to ascertain the damage done.
However, coach Steve Hansen is confident only utility Tamati Ellison will be unavailable for selection this week.
The All Blacks take on Wales in their third test of the European tour in Cardiff on Saturday.
