Instinct wins Singapore deal to provide mobile Wikipedia

Wellington software firm Instinct Entertainment has won a deal to provide a mobile version of Wikipedia to Singapore Telecom.
Singtel users can now access the online encyclopaedia free of charge through an application created by Instinct.
Instinct director Dan Milward says the deal is proof that Wikipedia is now an acceptable mainstream source of information.
He plans to approach Telecom and Vodafone to discuss the possibility of adding Wikipedia access to their services in New Zealand.
"I'd love for it to be available here. Every time I use it it costs me."
Mr Milward says Instinct is in talks with another overseas company about the Wikipedia portal.
Vodafone and Telecom say they will look at the application with interest.
Instinct, which employs four people, first created Wikipedia for mobiles in 2004.
