Maurice LaMarche, who calls himself the third most prominent William Shatner impressionist, has posted a video clip on YouTube declaring March 22 as International Talk like William Shatner Day.
William Shatner is an actor who achieved worldwide fame on the cult sci-fi series Star Trek, and his unique style of speaking has produced countless parodies. March 22 is his birthday.
In the YouTube clip, LaMarche shows viewers how to talk like Shatner, including awkward pausing and pronouncing "you" as though you're "about to gag".
LaMarche is a well-known voice actor who has performed in many TV shows and movies, including Futurama and Animaniacs.
The internet has been the driving force behind the global spread of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which encourages people to say "arrr" and "avast" like a true salty sea dog every September 19.
Only time will tell if Talk Like William Shatner Day will have achieve the same fame.
