Telecom is considering compensating customers who lost access to their e-mail during the weekend.
Telecom says web-mail problem is fixed
Some users continued to have problems today following last weekend's upgrade to the vaunted Yahoo!Xtra Bubble service.
Thousands of customers had found themselves unable to send or receive e-mails, were inundated with spam and unable to get through to the Xtra helpline.
The upgrade was to offer users a homepage with email, photo and data storage, Norton AntiVirus and other security tools.
The problem was found yesterday to stem from the registration process for the new service, with the communications company transferring the accounts of about 800,000 people.
Telecom spokesman Adrian Littlewood said he believed most of the technical problems had been sorted out.
"Our first priority is obviously to get people up and running. "We don't know what the formal shape of any compensation might take, but we are still in the midst of just making things work.
"We will look at any reasonable option where it is relevant for customers."
