Aimed squarely at lovers of Dora the Explorer this game proves that the ageing PS2 isn't dead yet.
You play Diego, Dora the Explorer's cousin, as he races across Africa to save all the animals that an evil magician turned into stone statues. By using the analogue sticks of the PS2's controller, Diego can beat a magic drum, which breaks the magician's spell and brings the animals back to life.
The action occurs across a 2D environment, where Diego has to do things such as ride elephants and drop into mole holes to collect stamps that are used to earn special badges.
Mitchell, the nine-year-old gamer in my house, said of Go Diego Go: "It's quite cool because when you go down steep hills with mud on them you ride a snowboard thing that you stand on. When you have to go across a canyon, you cross on a glider."
He said the game was quite easy and children about three and up would like the game. Mitchell didn't like that the graphics looked a little rough and that some of the sounds were a little unrealistic, such as the elephant's roar as it raced along the African plains.
Overall, Go Diego Go is a good, pleasant adventure for young fans of the characters and a game that mum and dad don't need to worry about being unsuitable for young children.
