Vodafone has joined the ranks of the large cap broadband providers after it revealed a 200GB "Chocka Naked" broadband plan, without fanfare, early this week.
The Chocka Naked plan costs $105 per month ($75 for those with a Vodafone on-account mobile plan) for 200GB. If users also take up the $40 per month 'double-data', they can get up to 400GB per month, which would cost $145 per month ($115 for Vodafone on-account customers).
Naked broadband is ADSL internet via copper, as per usual ADSL, but it only provides data and doesn't have any landline/voice capability. It's not available in all areas. Naked broadband usually suits those who don't need a landline, whether they use VoIP for internet calls or a mobile phone for calls, or those who have two phone lines and want a dedicated data line.
The addition of the Chocka Naked plan takes Vodafone's current naked broadband plans to three, with the Choice Naked (50GB per month, $85/$55 for on-account) and Mega Naked (100GB per month, $95/$65) rounding out the offerings.
Vodafone's broadband offerings all come with a free modem.
Other large capacity plans include Orcon's Unlimited plan ($99 per month) and Slingshot's Unlimited ($70 per month, not including landline) and Naked Unlimited ($90 per month) plans.
Vodafone doesn't offer plans with more than 200GB (using double data) on plans that include landline and broadband. Its Mega Pack broadband+phone plan offers 100GB and a landline for $105 per month ($95 per month on 12-month contract).
