New Zealand's own robotic band
This is truly wonderful. New Zealand has its own robot band, and they're pretty good. You know, as robot musicians go.
Hamilton's own The Trons are an all-robot band made by Greg Locke, a software engineer. They made their debut last weekend and are playing in Hamilton this weekend, so check them out if you can.
Or check out the YouTube vid. Pretty rad. As in literally radical, not 80s surfer talk.
These robots - named Ham, Wiggy, Fifi and Swamp - deserve their own music video, with bling and robotic booty-shaking and all the rest of it. It'd rock C4's world.
It'll be ten million times cooler when they have female (well, female-ish) robot dancers like these ones, but I'm sure that's in the gameplan.
And check out an RNZ interview with the creator here
It looks like it's starting to get coverage from all sorts of places, but this is the first I've heard of it, so thanks to Tom for sending it my way.

Great! Now we'll have a robot band to play at the end of the world when all the machines attack...
