Is that a glitch in your pocket?
The PlayStation 3 clock issue debacle is now behind us - my PS3 was up and running without any problems last night. And Sony will be hoping that the glitch that apparently made eight out of 11 older model PS3s around the world useless for a day is behind it, although isn't there potential for it to happen again if it's not patched quickly?
I guess an incident like this hammers home the point that no piece of hardware is ever safe from problems, no matter how trusted the manufacturer or how reliable the piece of kit has been over the years.
Sticking with PlayStation, I've been reading on Kotaku about a reader who has stumbled across a glitch in Sony's Heavy Rain that apparently allows the main female character, Madison Page, to go completely naked.
For those who have played it (and I'd be interested to hear what you think of it), you'll know that there is nudity early on in the game with both Page and Ethan Mars seen taking showers (seperately, not together) but apparently this glitch was triggered after the episode On the Loose where Mars and Page become romantically involved. If you click on the video link via Kotaku, I'd suggest that it's very Not Safe For Work.
Probably the most widely publisised "glitch" to appear in a game was the infamous Hot Coffee scenario from the PC version of GTA: San Andreas (although, technically, that was a modification using code in the game that was disabled), but there's no indication on whether this Heavy Rain incident is a genuine feature of Heavy Rain, letting Madison wander around naked, or whether it's just the result of a series of triggered events.
I haven't come across the glitch myself but I remember playing Mercenaries 2 last year and being gobsmacked at seeing motorcycles driving down the road riderless (but that was probably a result of poor Q and A rather than a glitch, but it was still funny).

Worst glitch of my life was the care package glitch in MW2 thank god they have fixed it. It was getting to the point where it was unplayable. Glitching in multiplayer games isn't on ok if you do it stop it, its not in the spirit of the game and ruins it for those who just want to play properly. Not to mention most people who glitch in multiplayer games do it because they cant win in a fair fight. Must say though nudity glitchs are just a bit of funny in a game
I liked the "skywalking" glitch in de_dust in Counter-Strike 1.6. That was fun!
Its like the Lara Bingle shower pictures all over again.
DOTA
Earthshakers Fissure skill - playing as slark I somehow got hit by this move and suffered damage, but was not stunned! I am not sure if I hit leap or invis at the right time but nonetheless the accusations began:
Noobhost (Raigor): HAXX!!!! Noobsentinal player 2 (Pudge): OMFG that is BS! Me (Slark): LOL Noobsentinal player 3: Hax noob! Noobsentinal player 3 has left the game
Another great slark move is dying in the middle of his leap, it looks really funny, like someone threw a dead frog LOL
World of warcraft is packed with glitches at the moment there is a glitch in some dungeons where other players characters appear to be fighting of masses of invading beasties in their undies
GTA4 is full of glitchs, Especially in the multiplayer online. Some favs are the swing slingshot that there are plenty of videos on youtube on. I once had Niko swimming over land, stopping traffic and what not. That was rather funny.
found a glitch in the Heavy Rain game, i went put put it on the other night only to have my PS3 reject it saying something about the trophys.. anyway the game wouldnt play at all. spoke to EB games who advised that this is apparently a common glitch with Heavy Rain and Sony are working on fixing it at the moment - apparently they are creating updates to download which will fix the prob. very weird!

I dont think the Heavy Rain glitch is a biggy, it's something pretty specific you have to do to get it to happen, and unlike the Hot Coffee thing, the nude model is already in the game not hidden away.
As for the PS3 clock problems, I read somewhere PS3(fat) and Zune share an ARM CPU chip which caused the leap year problem, so dont have to worry about it for another 4 years, but im sure it'll be patched in the next firmware
