Telecom says it has fixed a problem with its mobile broadband network that prevented customers accessing the internet from smartphones and tablet computers for much of the afternoon.
The fault affected all its pre-paid customers nationwide and post-paid customers south of Taupo, including those in the South Island.
Spokesman Conor Roberts said the problem had now been resolved.
Telecom said the fault resulted in “slow data speeds”, but some customers reported they were unable to access the internet at all.
The problems began for post-paid customers this morning and then went on to affect pre-paid customers, Roberts said.
