In a rare celebrity Google Street View sighting, the lead singer of psychedelic American rock band The Flaming Lips has been snapped sitting outside in a bathtub by Google's all-seeing eye.
It comes after reports in March last year of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher being photographed by Google's camera-equipped cars while enjoying a beer outside a pub in Camden, north London.
The band's eccentric frontman Wayne Coyne, 49, can be seen in his home town of Oklahoma City lounging beneath a crude hand-painted red and yellow sign that reads "Blob in the bath". The image can be accessed by anyone on Google Maps.
The discovery was made by a member of the official Flaming Lips forum, who verified the find by providing links to videos and pictures on the band's MySpace page, which features the same bath.
Apparently the outdoor bath was an art experiment created by Coyne for Halloween a few years ago.
The bath was configured to boil like a cauldron and blood appears to be splattered across the scene.
"Gotta love Wayne, and the Lips. So cool," wrote one fan on the forum.
The Flaming Lips are known for their elaborate live shows, which include a psychedelic arrangement of costumes, lighting, video clips, puppets and confetti.
Bizarre song titles and lyrics are also a band staple - such as Psychiatric Explorations of the Fetus with Needles on the album Clouds Taste Metallic.
At concerts, Coyne often launches himself off the stage inside a giant plastic bubble, rolling over the top of the crowd.
The band's best-known albums are The Soft Bulletin, released in 1999, and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, released in 2002.
Other albums include Transmissions from the Satellite Heart, In a Priest Driven Ambulance and Hit to Death in the Future Head.
Last year the band released a new studio album, Embryonic, and a complete remake of Pink Floyd's 1973 album, The Dark Side Of The Moon.
