Seventy percent of New Zealand adults have been the victim of cybercrime, according to a report from security software firm Symantec.
The most common type of cybercrime to sting Kiwis was computer viruses or malware, with almost two out of three New Zealanders affected.
About one out of three New Zealanders surveyed said they had encountered other types of cyber crime, such as email scams, credit card fraud and identity theft.
Just 10 percent said they felt very safe online, while only 45 percent said they reported cyber crime to the police.
The Norton Cybercrime Report surveyed 7066 adults from 14 countries. Five hundred New Zealanders were interviewed for the report.
