Wellington added to Apple 3D maps
Wellington is the latest city to be added to Apple's three-dimensional flyover maps.
Owners of Apple devices will be able to zoom over the capital, taking in all the sights with photorealistic, interactive 3D views.
They will be able to see every building and landmark in what looks similar to a computer game.
The city was added along with Yosemite National Park in California, United States.
Auckland and Christchurch have already been added to the mapping service.
The first cities in the world to get the 3D flyover treatment when the new Apple Maps app was rolled out with iOS6 were Cupertino, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Sacramento, Seattle and San Francisco in the United States, Montreal in Canada and Sydney in Australia.
Since then, more than 90 cities and parks have been given the treatment, including Stonehenge in England and Mt Rushmore in the United States.
In July, Apple announced it would be adding a city tour function to its flyover feature, enabling people to take a digital sightseeing tour of a city from the comfort of home.
However, it was unclear whether this would be applied to all of the 90 cities with flyover maps, with the main tourist cities such as Paris and New York first to have tours added.
