Social network Facebook is back up after an outage this morning created a global epidemic of twiddled thumbs.
The site went down at 7.41am New Zealand time, according to Downdetector, a site that monitors website outages. It was back up abouit 15 minutes later.
It's the second time this year it has sparked a Twitter frenzy with people asking what has happened.

The crash appeared to be global but so far Facebook's own twitter account remains silent.
The photo sharing platform Instagram has also gone down without explanation.
