Kim Dotcom's plans to get back into the cyber-locker business with a new version of his Megaupload site appear to have suffered a set-back after the Gabon government said it would suspend the internet domain he had planned used for the service.
Communications Minister Blaise Louembe has reportedly said he had given an instruction for www.me.ga to be "suspended" and that Gabon "cannot serve as a platform or screen for committing acts aimed at violating copyrights, nor be used by unscrupulous people".
Dotcom tweeted in response that the announcement showed the "reach of the US" of and media company Vivendi.
"Don't worry. We have an alternative domain. This just demonstrates the bad faith witch hunt the US government is on." he said.
