YouTube is rewinding 2012 by bringing together the stars of the online channel to perform a mash-up of - no surprise - Psy's Gangnam Style.

The K-Pop sensation has not only shot to the most watched YouTube clip of all times in only six months, the song has also inspired countless parodies.

YouTube is aiming high to make the ultimate mash-up bringing in familiar faces like RealAnnoyingOrange, BarelyPolitical, iJustine and AlphaCat who perform Gangnam Style and the other break-through hit of the year: Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe.

But YouTube's review of the "culturally defining moments of 2012" does not only celebrate net oddities, it includes also gives nods to the Mars landing, the Olympics and the United States' presidential election.
