A series of GPS global positioning systems have been recalled by Garmin Australasia because of a fire risk.
Garmin Australasia said some units which contained batteries manufactured by a third party could overheat, leading to a fire hazard.
The products were sold through Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, and potentially other electronic retailers, during 2008 and 2009.
The recall affected: Garmin nuvi 200W, Garmin nuvi 250W, Garmin nuvi 260W, and Garmin nuvi 760.
The company said that owners should go to www.garmin.com/nuvibatterypcbrecall and enter the unit's serial number to check if their GPS was affected and also follow steps on the website to receive a replacement unit.
