Here's a roundup of today's news found elsewhere on the internet:
Assassin's Creed II DLC set for next year (GameSpot) - Ubisoft is prepping a pair of add-ons for Assassin's Creed II, with the first expansion (Battle of Forli) due in January, and the second one (Bonfire of the Vanities) following in February. The publisher hasn't announced details or pricing for either pack, except to specify that each downloadable content pack will require at least 1GB of hard drive space to install.
Netherlands Hospital Blackout Blamed on Silent Hill (Kotaku) - A psych ward patient in Holland skated on an insanity plea after he killed power to an entire hospital thinking he was solving a puzzle in Silent Hill.
You might have heard of this, but a month ago or so, Jan H., the patient, shut down power to Sophia Hospital in the Netherlands thinking that by doing so he could acquire a toothbrush that would complete a puzzle. The hospital lost power for 45 minutes, stranding some folks in elevators and forcing doctors to resort to manual efforts to keep intensive care patients breathing. No one was hurt.
Turns out Jan H. skated on - what else - insanity. A court ruled he had "no idea of the true consequences of his deed."
British Tennis Star Possibly Dumped Over "Seven Hours A Day" Gaming Habit (Kotaku) - I guess even celebrities can be broken up with over video games. The Telegraph reports that British tennis star Andy Murray got the boot from his old lady over "seven hours a day" PlayStation 3 binges.
The split between Murray and Kim Sears was confirmed Sunday when Sears didn't show up to watch Murray play in the ATP Tour Finals. The unverifiable information that video games - particularly an unnamed tennis game and Modern Warfare 2 - were to blame comes from Murray's former coach, Brad Gilbert, and "sources close to Sears."
