A Christchurch couple who "don't know nada about renovating" will compete in this year's season of The Block NZ.

Beauty therapist Quinn, 26, and business development manager Ben, 30, are Team Orange in the popular reality television show. TV3 released the names of the four competing couples yesterday but is keeping tight-lipped on details. On their promotional video, the couple say they have no renovation experience.

"We don't know nada about renovating a house," Quinn said.

Quinn said her favourite tool was a rake, while Ben's was a sledgehammer. They had learned to "do it better" from past The Block NZ teams.

Team Yellow is high school sweethearts, event manager Maree, 27, and property valuer James, 28, from South Auckland.

Team Blue is Jo, 34, and husband Damo, 36, from Feilding. Damo works for NZ Police and Jo runs a home furnishing business.

Alex, 29, and Corban, 32, are Team Purple and live at Muriwai Beach on Auckland's west coast. Alex is a fashion buyer and Corban a mechanical engineer.

The couples will be renovating homes in Pt Chevalier, Auckland.
