Motorcyclist killed in Chch

Police have named the 37 year old motorcyclist, who died hitting a traffic light standing, after travelling on the wrong side of the road in central Christchurch last night.
The Christchurch man has been named as Stephen John Kinloch.
Police found the motorcycle crashed on Moorhouse Avenue at Madras Street, after reports from 8.15 pm on Saturday night of an erratically ridden motorcycle in the Waltham area of Christchurch.
Shortly afterwards witnesses reported a motorcycle travelling the wrong way on Moorhouse Avenue. It is thought he hit the traffic light standing at 8:20pm.
When the police arrived on the scene of the crash members of the public were attempting to give medical assistance to the rider but he died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
Moorhouse Avenue was partially closed for 2.5 hours as a result.
