Tyler Jones, from Christchurch, hasn't been in contact with his family in almost a month.

Police have fears for the safety of a teenager who has been missing for more than three weeks.

Christchurch teen Tyler Jones, 15, was last seen on July 6 in Hornby, in the city's west and has not been in touch with his family since then.

Police said all efforts by Police and Child Youth and Family to find Tyler have been so far unsuccessful and they were increasingly worried.

Tyler is likely to be in the Christchurch area but also has links on the West Coast, police said.

Anyone with information that can assist in locating Tyler is asked to contact Christchurch Police on (03)363 7400.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
