Glenn Conway is the senior political writer at The Press.

Originally from Southland, he began his journalism career at his hometown newspaper in Gore, The Ensign, in 1990.

In 1992, he began a six-year stint at the Balclutha-based Clutha Leader publication, rising to the position of editor in 1996.

He then worked as an on-air announcer/journalist for a Balclutha radio station for nearly two years before he became the South Otago bureau chief for the Otago Daily Times, a role he held for eight years before moving to Christchurch in late 2009.

He joined The Press as a senior reporter in November 2009 and covered the Christchurch City Council round and political beat including the 2010 local body elections.

In April last year, he was promoted to chief reporter where he was in charge of the Press newsroom.

This year, he became senior political writer.
