Jade Software signs up fourth port terminal
Christchurch-based technology firm Jade Software has signed up its fourth port terminal software customer in the Middle East as the company expands its business in the region.
Jade opened an office in Dubai in May to support its business in the Middle East.
Jade's port management software, Master Terminal, been chosen by Hutchison Ajman Container Terminal to manage its operations at the Port of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates.
The port of Ajman is located on the Gulf coast and handles a variety of cargoes including containers, break bulk and vehicles.
Jade's port management software, which helps port companies oversee the movement of containers and cargo entering and exiting ports, is already being used in Iraq by Gulftainer, the world's largest privately owned port operator, and by Milaha, formerly Qatar Navigation Port Services, at the Port of Doha, and also at Ruwais in Abu Dhabi.
Jade chief operating officer David Lindsay said Master Terminal would replace the Port of Ajman's legacy system and was expected to go live in the last quarter of this year.
