A crash at the Dawsons and Chattertons Rds intersections has seen five people hospitalised this morning.

A St John spokesman said the crash occurred at about 11am today.

He said two people suffered serious injuries, and three had moderate injuries.

"The patients have a variety of injuries, including head, torso and arm injuries."

He understood the crash involved at least three vehicles, "one of which ended up in a ditch next to the road, upside down".

Four ambulances and two response vehicles were at the scene.

Police and fire crews also attended.
