Hottest Tradie voting closes Thursday
Polling closes Thursday - have you voted yet?MYLES HUME
Hearts are fluttering and the votes are flowing in as competition heats up for Canterbury's hottest tradie.
With voting closing on Thursday, there are only days left until the region's best all-round tradesman or woman out of 168 nominees is unveiled and earns themselves a trip to the Gold Coast.
Whether they are be fun, charismatic, hard working or just easy on the eye, it will be a well-earned break as our tradies work tirelessly to get the city back on its feet, and in some cases volunteer their time to help others.
Builder and part time local fmx star Stacy Rush is turning the most heads with 449 votes. He has been labelled a hard-working passionate man with "an outgoing and fun personality", despite losing his mother recently and dealing with floods and burglaries at his home.
"Through all this he has remained incredibly positive and is most looking forward to rebuilding the family home, which was earthquake damaged, in honour of his late mum, Diane," his profile says.
Not far behind Rush is Jeff Steel on 322 votes. You don't need to look far past his dimples to relaise why he is in the running.
Also in the mix is Rawza the sparky on 222 votes, who is known for putting in the hard yards and working 6 days a week, but always finding time to help others when a job needs doing.
Flying the female flag is the woman dubbed Canterbury Concrete's Finest. The "class 4 blondy" has captured the votes of 194 people, while Tammi the Redhead Roofer may well be "the perfect woman".
The apprentice roofer has attracted 160 votes, and also has a strong commitment to kickboxing, soccer playing, her work and family. She has overcome adversity in life to become proud, and even carries out quake repairs for her friends free of charge.
These are only a snapshot of our nominees, and they are relying on your help to get them the holiday they deserve.
With voting finishing at midnight Thursday, you can vote by clicking here, or on the pictures below.
