Christchurch today: Overgrown grass a worry
Welcome to a wrap of what's happening in Christchurch today.
Fine weather is expected for most of Christchurch today, although some early showers could fall near the Port Hills. Southwesterly winds and high of 17 degrees Celsius have been forecast by Metservice.
Fine spells with a chance of showers are forecast tomorrow, while Saturday is expected to be fine with a high of 23C.
However, the rain is set to return on Sunday, later becoming showers that continue through Monday and Tuesday.
No traffic issues have been reported in Christchurch this morning.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
Q: Is there a reason why the Mt Pleasant old school reserve is not being mown to a standard that children can play happily on without the fear of being stung by a bee, or people walking their dogs don't get wet feet and their dogs being covered in sticky seed heads? I wondered if the city council was getting into hay making?
A: Mowing of the lower section of the reserve had not been undertaken due to access difficulties via the bottom vehicle entrance. This has now been resolved and the lower section of the reserve was scheduled to be mown in time for use over the Christmas period. Christchurch City Council
