Welcome to a wrap of what's happening in Christchurch today.

WEATHER

Fog should clear in Christchurch this morning, followed by southerlies, cloudy periods and a high of 20 degrees Celsius.

Morning and evening cloud is expected over the city tomorrow, along with northeasterlies and a high of 18C.

Cloudy periods are also forecast for Saturday and Sunday, along with northeasterlies and highs of 19C and 20C respectively, Metservice says.

TRANSPORT

Several flights were delayed at Christchurch Airport this morning because of fog.

Air New Zealand delayed multiple flights due to travel from Christchurch to Invercargill, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Tauranga, Blenheim and Wellington.

Two Jetstar flights to Auckland and two travelling from Auckland were also delayed this morning.

Flights are now arriving or departing as normal due to the fog lifting, but passengers are advised to check the Christchurch Airport website and with their airline.

Christchurch police say no traffic incidents have been reported in the city this morning.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Q: What is happening with the Breathe Urban Village design winning entry for the block of land at the end of Latimer Square. When is construction starting? Mary Riley

A: The timeframe for the due diligence to be completed by the Breathe team has changed from January to March. This phase is still under way. Due diligence includes verifying build costs, budgets and so on. The plan will be referred to Cera shortly. Because of nervousness surrounding living in the central city, the architects are committed to ensuring the project is both safe and high quality. Anselmi Attiani Architects
