Addington Raceway is preparing for large crowds at the 2012 New Zealand Trotting Cup this Tuesday.

Cup Day at Addington is one of the most highly-anticipated events on Canterbury's Cup and Show Week calendar and last year attracted a crowd of over 20,000.

Tickets to the corporate hospitality packages and the Lindauer Lawn had sold out, with only general admission tickets still available.

A pair of tickets to the Lindauer Lawn, purchased for $60 each, were for sale on Trade Me and had bids had reached over $300.

Gates open at 9.30am. The first race of the day starts at 11.50am and the feature race, the Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup, will race at 5.15pm. Racing would continue through to 6.30pm.
