Shauva Thoms has been named Miss Diamond Doll in one of New Zealand's first alternative pageants.

Fifteen contestants competed in the Living Dolls competition, which was held in Christchurch on the weekend.

Organiser and Living Dolls CEO Sophia Lee said the event was about celebrating beautiful, confident women who were comfortable in their own skin.

As the winner, Thoms receives prizes and will feature at the annual Living Dolls show in October.
