The new shoes of the season need a fashion check. What to wear with the highest heels, the flattest flats and styles from simple to baroque has never been so easy.

DIZZY HEIGHTS

Wear with your best take on Mad Men, taking care to channel the 60s standouts. Wasp waists, full skirts, clutch bag, straight seams (stocking alert!). Not your style? Go to the winner's circle in your staight-as-an-arrow lace sheath dress: Zizi stiletto, $270 from Quinns.

COLOUR BLOCK

FLOWERS AFOOT

BRIGHT LIGHT

CLOSING TIME

CHATTANOOGA SHOESHOE

DESERT DREAMER

Yes, we know this has a slightly casual air for Cup and Show Week, but this is the shoe-sandal to wear with harem pants - the new take on trackies (only kidding). It could be the best version of a summer boot - all the style, none of the sweat. Drew sandal $229, by Ziera.
