Other bouts at the event include former New Zealand Sevens player Craig De Goldi fighting Scott McCashin (Stokes Brewery), Phil Paul (Accessman) vs. Bryce Robb (Beaver Trees and Landscaping), Carrie Lee (Vodafone) fighting actor Miriama Smith (actor), and Reon Goodwillie (Vodafone) taking on Fraser Hepburn (Baretta).

Promoter Justin Wallace said Fight for Christchurch had become a "major event for the city".

Last year, more than $140,000 was raised for charity. More than $360,000 has been raised since the first event in 2010.

Professional heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker was supposed to be this year's main event but he had to pull out because of a cut he sustained above his left eye last Thursday during a fight against Afa Tatupu in Auckland.

Contestants will be raising money for the Canterbury Earthquake Children's Trust, Kidscan, and Ronald McDonald House.
