That's right! At this month's Sema Car Show in Las Vegas, Ford announced that it's making available a complete brand new steel body shells for 1940 Ford Coupes.

They will probably cost about $17,000 to land in New Zealand and promise to last longer than the original thanks to modern steel and modern rustproofing.

The new body is in Ford's Restoration Parts catalogue, from which you can also order an original flathead V8 or any of the more modern V8s popular with hot-rodders, plus a firewall to fit.

The catalogue also contains 1965-1967 Ford Mustang convertible and coupe body parts.

We'll take the '40 Coupe with a new 5.0-litre Coyote V8 thanks.
