Growing up in Rangiora with a fashion-designing mum set the scene for Emma Ponsonby, who is now well ensconced in the international fashion world.
Recently launching an online shopping mall, she enables fashionistas to fill their shopping bags with labels such as Victoria's Secret and Dolce and Gabbana without leaving home.
More than 70 high-end labels and retailers, including Harrods and Bloomingdales, are tenants of Ponsonby's online mall, with two-thirds of them shipping to New Zealand.

Show a lot of leg
Legs are looking good this winter with DKNY's latest lacy look. Too pretty to hide under a long skirt, the ultra- feminine floral tulle tights are just calling out for heels and hemlines of the same length, if you dare!
Birthdays are a time for celebrating and reminiscing about the good times, so it's only fitting that Barkers celebrates its 40th birthday this year by bringing back a much-loved memory of the '90s.
A staggering 50,000 pairs of Barkers trackpants sold last time around and they are now giving a new generation comfortable clothing that's ideal for sports, travel or hanging out with friends.
* Trackpants are $89.99 from Barkers stores or barkersonline.co.nz
Sew it up
The New Zealand Fashion Museum is seeking to uncover gems from our own homegrown fashion history. Public and private collectors, designers, stylists and others with a passion for fashion are invited to contribute to the museum's upcoming Home Sewn exhibition.
The exhibition focuses on garments, patterns, photographs, machines and technology that tell a story about the evolution of home-sewn fashions in New Zealand and will be held in pop-up locations.
