The action at the New Zealand Croquet Open is heating up heading into the weekend.

By the end of play tonight, the semi finalists will be found for Saturday’s matches with the winners going on to play in Sunday’s finals.

Many of the best croquet players in the world have descended on Christchurch for the event.

Top local hope, Jenny Clarke, was knocked out of contention in quarter final play today as was former Christchurch man, now living in England, Paddy Chapman.

The finals will be played at the United Croquet Club at North Hagley Park and admission is free on both days.
