Man seriously injured after roof fall
A man was seriously injured when he fell from the roof of a Christchurch house while working on earthquake repairs.
The accident was believed to have happened on Wednesday, while the "young man" was working on the roof of a suburban Christchurch house, Fletcher spokesman Barry Akers said.
"He received some fairly serious injuries and is receiving treatment."
Work at the house stopped after the accident happened, but work did not stop at other houses in the area, he said.
"There's no sort of blanket stoppage."
Akers said he could not comment on the specifics of the incident, including the location of the accident.
Fletcher was conducting an internal investigation into the incident, he said.
A Department of Labour spokeswoman said the department was also investigating the accident.
