Strangest hook-up of the week award has to go to Woman's Day for linking Rachel Hunter's sister with Peter Andre.
Woman's Day reveals that Rachel Hunter's big sister Jacqui is responsible for helping 'save' Peter Andre after he suffered from a nervous breakdown early on in his career.
The singer who split from glamour model Jordan aka Katie Price earlier this year, fled to the US suffering from panic attacks and nervous exhaustion at the height of his fame.
He met Jacqui, who, at the time was helping Rachel to get over her split from Rod Stewart.
"I moved to Los Angeles where I met a girl called Jacqui, who I told about the attacks, the breakdown, the medication," he says.
Jacqui is refusing to go into details of what transpired, saying only that 'she treasures her memories of Peter'...
Woman's Weekly reports that Katie Holmes has found a new friend in none other than New Zealander Anna Paquin. The two are apparently hanging out while they film new romantic comedy The Romantics.
The photos of Katie on set, laughing and fooling around are a far cry from recent pictures of her looking haggard while visiting hubby Tom Cruise.
Draw your own conclusions.
It must be nearly Christmas because who should pop up in Woman's Weekly but 'musical sensation' Yulia, who is about to become an 'instant mum'.
The Christchurch-based singer and husband/manager Glyn Maclean are moving to the Wairarapa, where Glyn's five-year-old son Aiden lives.
Apparently it's so that Yulia can get an idea of what it's like to have her own children.
"I missed out on nappies and the sleep deprivation, but I'll get to experience parenting a more grown-up child," she says.
Sounds like a good deal.
There's also a plug for their Christmas Romance Tour and the couple tackle the touchy subject of their age difference (she is 23 and he is 40).
"There are lots of examples [of singers being married to their managers] in the music industry, like Celine Dion and, of course, Shania Twain."
Oops. Seems Yulia wasn't aware that Shania split from Mutt Lange last year after he cheated on her with their housekeeper.
Meanwhile, New Idea seems to have struggled to come up with Kiwi celebs to interview this week.
TVNZ business 'guru' Corin Dann talks about his 'full-on life' which begins at 3.45am each morning with Colin ' swilling back a strong hit of caffeine and donning his business suit' and continues well into the afternoon with him 'analysing and debating the burning economic issues of the day'.
Phew.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar features in a four-page spread where she and husband Freddie Prinze, Jr show off their new daughter.
The couple explain why they decided to call their daughter Charlotte.
"She's going to be in school with a Magic Appleseed, or something, and it's going to be weird that she's Charlotte. Hopefully, that's a name that no one will have any reason to talk about." Freddie explains.
Finally, the quote of the week comes from Kordeza Zhelyazkova, who had a baby at the tender age of eleven: "I didn't know that I was pregnant... I just thought I'd eaten to many burgers".
That must have been some burger.
