Having an Australian boyfriend has been a little confusing for teen superstar Miley Cyrus.
Cyrus, 17, and actor Liam Hemsworth, 20, cemented their status as one of Hollywood's hottest young couples when they walked the red carpet at last week's Academy Awards.
"The thing Liam says that always makes me laugh is 'Bob's your uncle,'" Cyrus said.
"I'm like 'What are you saying? Who's Bob? What are you talking about?' He always says it and I say, 'I don't know what you are talking about but it is hilarious.'"
The daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus met Hemsworth - younger brother of actor Chris Hemsworth - on the set of their new film The Last Song.
Cyrus visited the Hemsworth family home on Phillip Island in Victoria in January. She said one of the things that first impressed her about Hemsworth was his drive to leave Australia to try to make it big in Hollywood.
"It took a lot of guts," she said.
"He moved away from his family and he didn't know whether he was going to get work or not but he did."
