Madonna is reportedly planning another world tour.

The 51-year-old singer finished her gruelling 85-date Sticky & Sweet world concert run last September.

Despite rumours she was planning to take a break from touring for a couple of years, Madonna appears to have already thrown herself into planning her next show.

The star and her 23-year-old Brazilian lover Jesus Luz held auditions for stage dancers in London club Aura last week and were overheard telling people that the theme of the tour was "urban street".

Madonna cordoned off an area of the club and filmed every hopeful with her phone, while Jesus jotted down notes.

The as-yet-unnamed tour will be part of Madonna's £60 million (NZ$128m) deal with concert promoter Live Nation, is expected to gross more than £100 million (NZ$213m).

"It's going to be her biggest, most unexpected tour to date," a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

"She is going back to her New York City roots, with a street/hip-hop feel, and wants to make it a physical, dance-heavy set of gigs.

"Madonna is in peak condition so the gruelling aspect of life on the road isn't a problem. She also road-tested dancers at her favourite London club, and had her lover, Jesus Luz, give his opinion."

Madonna is famous for her dedication to exercise and healthy eating. She follows a strict macrobiotic diet and is so committed she reportedly took her own private chef with her on a recent flight from New York to London.

"Not only did Madonna and her entourage take up an entire aisle in upper class - even though there wasn't enough of them to actually fill the area - she even had her private chef on board," an airline source told British newspaper The Daily Star.
