He's spent nearly a year in the wilderness after his MTV Music Awards rant, but it appears Kanye West is getting ready to return to the spotlight.
The Stronger rapper has given a bizarre impromptu concert at Facebook headquarters, previewing new material from his forthcoming album, rumoured for release on September 14 - a year to the day since his televised outburst.
Footage posted on You Tube shows the 33-year-old dressed in a business suit and rapping acappella while standing on a conference room table.
In between songs, reportedly titled Chain Heavy, Mama's Boyfriend, and Good Ass Job, he is also heard cracking jokes to the small crowd of employees.
The Facebook visit would suggest social networking is going to be part of West's new publicity strategy. He yesterday set up a Twitter account, using it to announce he had changed his mind about the album's title.
"The album is no longer called "Good Ass Job" I'm bouncing a couple of titles around now," he tweeted, shortly after announcing he was "up early in the morning taking meetings in Silicone Valley."
West was labelled a "jackass" by President Barrack Obama after he famously interrupted young country singer Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to tell her she didn't deserve to win the Best Video gong.
He has apologised several times for the outburst but has been lampooned across the internet ever since.
The Atlanta-born artist has spent months in Hawaii working on the album, his fifth studio recording.
